King Winter is here

Cuckoo!

And then it’s here!
King Winter decided to give us a little taste of the upcoming winter month and wrapped our world in a soft white blanket.
So beautiful.

But it was an eventful morning though when I dropped Bella off at school.
All the snow on the roads had turned into pure ice, and I slidded in to a another car which was blocking the way due to having no control. No injuries or car damages though so happy for that but I really really hate this part of winter.
The road assistants were not able to help out due to general chaos and other, more serious accidents, so it took us a few hours to find a solution for our cars.
Later I ended up leaving my car at the nearest parking lot and I just walked back home.
50 min of pulsing through the snow in a beautiful, quiet and white world.

Two members of our family were extremely happy though although it was too late to play in the garden when Bella got back from school, but Elvis...
He was running around chasing the snowflakes and dipped his nose in the snow and blew it just to watch it dance:)
Unfortunately he got his legs covered in lumps of snow which was annoying him. Any advice of how to deal with fur and snow?

To me me this winter costume only trigged the Christmas spirit...
And the hot chocolate nerv:)

Not giving up

Cuckoo!

If ever doubting what to do one day just do hand stands!
That is according to my daughter both energizing, energy craving, addicting, fun, a way to kill time and you get muscles on top of all other positive things:)

You can do it everywhere she says.
In the mall, at school or at work, in your garden, at the beach, in the kitchen...yes wherever you feel the need of doing a hand stand:)
She also tells me it is not about how good you are, if it’s straight, crooked, or if you do not even get up.

It is about trying to do it and not giving up!!!

I think my beautiful daughter is really on something there.
On a deeper level and in a wider perspective.
We sure can learn a lot from our children!

A trip to Zeta’s...

Cuckoo!

A cold and grey day my beautiful friend took me to a little gem I’ve only heard about but never experienced my self.
It was a garden center with kind of extra everything if you refer to ambience, style, products and prizes 😝.
Plants and other things for the outside were of course “hibernating” but still I could picture what wonderful place to go visit when the right season will come if you want to go hunting for inspiration.

I so appreciate when they mix in ideas of how to use some of their things so it can be seen in its right environment and us buyers can start dreaming:)
They also have a cute little cafe with just enough selection to satisfy both a savor and sweet tooth.
Luckily 😝!
I can’t wait to come back to this place when it’s filled of temptations and I can explore their full range of ways to beautify our home and garden.

My fluffy marshmallow

Cuckoo!

I dropped Elvis off at the hairdresser this morning.
I left a dog in there but came to pick up a fluffy marshmallow:)
I think even him did not really recognize himself because he walked in a funny way, like he was a balloon only attached to the ground by the leash I was holding.

I don’t know why the pictures came out so weird but something seems to be wrong...
Anyhow I wish there would be a “smell button” too that could catch that special hairdressed fur fragrance that surrounded my dog and made me bury my nose in a fluffy marshmallow both once and twice:)

 So much fluffy love!

The weekend

Cuckoo!

Its been a busy weekend!
First my dear hubby surprised me by taking me to a concert and managed to keep it a secret all the way till the artist entered the stage.
I had no clue at all but i did welcome it by all my heart when I found out it was one of my funniest favorite Swedish singer, Lena Philipsson.
Love my husband for doing this kind of things for me!
Love him for other things too...😝

And today was his day.
Actually it was the day of all fathers out there...
But he was the only one getting a gift from me.
I gave him a book for him to write about himself, his past and current time, his plans for the future, good things and bad things...
It will hopefully give him time for reflection, bring out emotions and a possibility for him to pass on his experiences to other generations to learn from.
He immediately started to write his autobiography so I guess there is some stuff to be told:)

We were thinking to take the boat out for a trip in the archipelago to have a Father’s Day lunch but have not really got used to the short days yet so ended up in our local hotel.
A beautiful building next to the marina, great food but completely empty.
I so hope the new plans for this pearl will make this place hustle and bustle and become the new waterhole for both locals and visitors from far.

A few kids were missing...
Will I ever get used to that?!

A weekend filled with activities and sharing of love and a wonderful ending of the passed week.
Hopefully it will set the tone of this upcoming week...
Did I mention I feel so grateful?

A glorious morning

Cuckoo!

The other morning when I stumbled out in our garden to let Elvis do his things it was like entering a painting.
The world looked so beautiful and it felt like it passed on a message of “today will be a good day”.
It was cold, a little foggy and a beautiful light.

It was just magical!
It immediately created a feelgood feeling and I felt like I was wrapped in a blanket of peacefulness, no worries and lots of hope for this world.
A glorious way to start my day:)

Still the same...

Cuckoo!

All quiet on the western front.
Absolutely nothing is happening in our home.
Its still the same pillows, same furnishing and same kind of “just moved in” atmosphere.
With leaves falling down I feel the inspiration took the same way...
Maybe I’m suffering from a light version of a fall depression.

We are still waiting for the architects to come back with The solution.
Till then it feels a little unnecessary to invest in colors, furniture and paintings so I just keep on refilling my vases to at least get some uplifting energy going:)

But still, honestly, we have roof above our heads, food to eat, beds to sleep in and love to share with each other.
Should‘nt that be enough?!
I do believe the right pillow should be in that equation though:)

Ambience in pictures...

Cuckoo!

Just read that this coming winter will be the coldest in 5 years...
Luckily we have December with all its warm lights and decoration wrapping us with a soft and cozy blanket making us believe that it’s actually not so bad.
HM home delivers the same message with their pictures:)

( pictures HM Home)

Love the mixture of traditional and glamorous as well as the mix of simple and grand and sumptuous.
Think of how far a single twig in a beautiful vase can take you ambience wise...
Right now I’m happy just experiencing the feeling through pictures though:)

Happy new week!

Activity day...

Cuckoo!

When fever is gone the energy comes back and suddenly my daughter was ready for some adventure.
We decided to go visit a medieval manor in the middle of nowhere at the countryside outside our summerhouse.
She was lucky to have one of her cousins joining her, which added some extra positive dimension to this whole cold trip:)

A medieval calendar making with the use of the same sort of colors they used back then ( hard to work with said Bella) had them focused, and warmed up, for a little while.
After that it was time for the next thing...

Of course some of us, no matter age, had to try to put their neck in the pillory. ( right word?)
Everything seemed to be of interest but when it came to go treasure hunting in the manor Bella chickened out already in the entrance. Despite the company of my sister, it was too dark, too narrow aisles and apparently to steep for my daughter to feel comfortable so we stopped the fun there.
Instead we went to a bakery to stock up with goodies and went home to top off our day in our warm kitchen waiting for my family to join us for a coffee/tea and snack.
Best moment of that day according to me:)

Love my family, love exploring the neighborhood and love being here!

A walk in the “hood”

Cuckoo!

I was right!
The sea and its surroundings looked exactly the same, only more “naked” and almost vulnerable.
So beautiful, peaceful and quiet.
Safe in its knowledge that this is just temporarily, a routine needed for recharging...

During my walk I was struck by the serenity of the whole scenery.
Despite nature going in to sleep mode it was still able to deliver beautiful energy and passed on a message promising it will be back again in full swing next year.

This place!
So grateful…

Summerhouse in sleeping mode

Cuckoo!

We are down in my little heaven in Ystad for a couple of days.
The joy factor is as high as always although I have a daughter with fever so we don’t do much but reading books, drinking tea and hugging.

Everything, both inside and outside has kind of adopted a sleepy mode preparing for the winter season and the area is empty on people.
I still haven’t had a chance to go down to the sea yet but I have a feeling i will get the same feeling there although the waves are rolling in the same way as usual.
Its a liberating feeling when nature is slowing down its pace.
It affects me the same way with no pressure, no demands, i can just be...

A couple of days of just being, that’s not too bad.
Life is good:)

Beautiful apartment for sale

Cuckoo!

I love browsing houses for sale!
It is a great place to find inspiration without buying expensive interior magazines.
Most of the homes are very Scandinavian with its light and straightforward yet functional way of furnishing.
But sometimes you stumble upon something else...
And my eyes begin to sparkle:)

(Pictures from Per Jansson Fastighetsförmedling)

This apartment gives you a very warm, comforting and embracing feeling we all need when it’s getting colder outside.
And they definitely get away with that dark color painted up on the ceilings too.

Yup, could move in any time but since we just bought something else the inspiration only will have to do:)

Ingredients and recipe box...

Cuckoo!

I'm probably the last person jumping on that ingredients-and-recipe-service-delivery train but yesterday I got my first box filled with ingredients for four dinners.
Wohoooo was the first word to come out and wohoooo still slipped out after our first meal:)
I have been lacking both inspiration and desire to cook so needed some external influence.

Even Bella felt excited and wanted to engage in the food preparation too.
She read the recipe, picked the ingredients we needed and helped prepare everything with a concentration almost touchable:)
Such wonderful help and company made me make a few dance moves and best thing was she finished everything on her plate.

Variation, convenience and nutrition in a box.
Maybe this is what we all needed as a little sidestep from our usual routines.
Will definitely give this whole thing a chance.

October bouquet...

Cuckoo!

I just can't help but love this season and Its colors that are warming up both our homes and our souls and in a positive way, at least when the sun is present, prepares us for colder times to come.
On a walk with Elvis the other day I could not resist but picking up pieces of that glowing nature to bring home to brighten my room.

It does not have to be a complicated bouquet to deliver beauty.
I really think even the simplest bunch of leaves and grass brings enough warmth and colors to make the room glow.
And with candles, sheepskin and a big cup of tea I believe we have set the ambiance...

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers"!

I'm challenged...

Cuckoo!

I've accepted a challenge.
Im going to run 10 k.
It does seem to me like I'm going to run up Kilimanjaro in heavy military boots, bag pack and a kid on my shoulders.
I know, it's all in my head...

Luckily im following this program that slowly builds builds you up without leaving you with a feeling of exhaustion.
Instead I'm actually starting to love the routine.
Its such a good way to let your thoughts loose, to inhale some fresh air and to admire our beautiful world more closely.
I mean who wouldn't enjoy building up stamina, muscles and fighting spirit in this environment?!
This is my third week running according to the schedule and I'm still smiling!

An ordinary fall day...

Cuckoo!

This boat!
Im telling you, it really does something to you.
It's like it is glueing us as a family together, making us want to spend time with each other, exploring.
Not to mention all the feeding of our souls by the beauty of our nature...

Olivia took one of the jetski's to drop it off for winterstorage and rode behind us for half the trip and rest of the journey we enjoyed the colors, the fresh air and of course some food:)

Yup, it's amazing how an ordinary fall day can fill your heart with such joy and satisfaction.
So so grateful!

I did it! Again!

Cuckoo!

I am going to start my new week in the most positive way!
I namely received my certificate from the color course I've been taken.
So from now on I'm also a certified color expert.
Whoop whoop! 🎈🎈🎈

I think this a beautiful addition to the interior business I'm thinking of starting.
So now I have the tools from feng shui to create balance and harmony, I am able to stage and redesign your home to make it sell to a better price and I can offer guidance in finding the right way in the jungle of colors.
I think I'm on for a great start!
The only thing I have to do now is to actually start my business.
I wished I knew how to...

Changes...

Cuckoo!

We are right now busy trying to find the best way to makes changes to our new house.
I think I'm the one to blame for that but I really don't like it and did not do it from the beginning either.
It has a wonderful location but the house itself is a mess, both style wise and energy wise and im struggling finding peace...
I gave in for the other members of the family, who like Iike it, by following the advice "we can always change a house but not the location".

So now we quickly have to decide what needs to be done so we can start our project.
Architects are involved and so far it seems they are listening to our needs and the feeling we want to accomplish.
Never underestimate your gut feeling...
If we just can give the house clean lines instead of this conglomeration of different styles, think Mediterranean mixed with the marine,  I think we are heading in the right direction.

Stay tuned...

First boat trip to Stockholm...

Cuckoo!

Despite the rain, cold and wind we took our boat out today for a little trip in to the big city.
It took about one hour and a half one way but then we also had to go through narrow channels that slowed down the speed a lot.
Also remember we are beginners...

A focused captain!
On our return ride I was the captain.
Just sayin...

All the photos are taken from inside ( it was too cold for a non-Viking like me to stay out in the rain) so excuse some weird glare.
The pictures covered in raindrops I thought were as beautiful as without so could not resist including them.

The cabin on the boat was doing a great job protecting us from the rain and cold but had a lot of big windows that allowed us not to miss anything going around outside.
Thanks to our new addition of the boat I felt I was broadening my perspective of life looking at the land, with its buildings, from the water and once again I was hit by the beauty of our world:)

Ship ahoy!!!

The boat is here!!!

Cuckoo!

So our boat arrived last night!
A proud "captain" drove it all the way from the marina back to our house with flying colors like he had not done anything else his whole life:)
Unfortunately the sun set so quickly it was difficult to capture the event but a little sneak peak on our addition to the Lacik's residence I managed to share.

We did not even know where to park the boat so had to try different positions:)
This boat is suppose to carry us wherever we want to explore in the archipelago and whatever lunch restaurant that are still open can count on a visit from us.
Not to mention all the fresh air, the beauty of nature and the experience of having water instead of ground underneath our feet, all unique happenings to us that we can write down in our book of life.
This weekend we know exactly how we are going to kill our time...

Happy weekend!
